This new site should be easier to navigate, and many old dead links and unpopular content have been eliminated, but many more links remain to be checked. Most bookmarks should still work (hopefully), but please remember to bookmark this new domain. Everything should be redirected to the new site, and all the old URLs will eventually be going away.
My blog, Renegade Catholic, will stay where it is for the moment, but it is the next on the list to be fixed.

SARABITE.INFO is named after an ancient, peculiar variety of freethinking monks. Long despised by cenobites, the more "regular" kind that live in groups with extensive rules in monasteries, as is evident from the quote from St. Benedict above. Little is historically known about them. But "sarabite" is a title that I have proudly if somewhat perversely claimed as my own for many years now, though I know I'm not the only one, as I have met others...

Just published, this book lays out the amazing story of sex among Catholic clergy from the founding of the Church to the present, including the surprising roles of Pope Benedict XVI, Vatican II, and the Inquisition, showing how they came about, their ultimate disappearance – and why that may not be a good thing.

A Medieval Comedy
The tale of a young man in 14th Century France with the worst summer job in history, as an intern with the Inquisition looking into everybody's secrets. It's a dark, off-beat historical comedy with a clever lad as the hero, his much-favored knightly cousin, the beautiful girl they both love – plus evil inquisitors, loose monks, the last living Knight Templar and a quest for the Holy Grail.
Currently only in screenplay format but soon to be a novel.
